Meet The Educators

Arianna Nava

Arianna has been working with CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE since 2022 and is motivated to make a positive impact in the Kings County community through nutrition, physical activity, and health education. During college, she developed a passion for helping students and families from minority backgrounds. She was exposed to the health disparities among underserved communities and felt a duty to give back. She wants to encourage society to build a healthier environment and lifestyle.

 

What Is Adult Nutrition Education?

CalFresh Healthy Living, University of California Nutrition Education Program provides evidence-based nutrition education to low-income individuals and families in collaboration with local partners. Our goal is to help consumers with information on food and nutrition, food safety, and resource management. No-cost classes are available to low-income adults residing in Kings County. 

We offer:

  • Direct delivery of Nutrition Education curriculum
  • In-class presentations with food tasting
  • Bilingual teaching materials (per request)
  • Family newsletters and nutrition classes
  • Workshops for Resource Centers
